Glinna Forester, a young woman with an extraordinary metaphysical gift, finds herself unexpectedly alone in the world when her best friend, Germain mysteriously leaves her after years of companionship. While dealing with her feelings of abandonment she also realizes that she's intensely in love with Germain. His absence is a blow to her heart. She will risk her life to find him in her pursuit to cultivate the true love that she took for granted and ignored for too many years. Set in a time of societal and environmental break down, Glinna is irrevocably linked to Earth's ever changing and, determinedly violent, weather. She finds herself in danger when Earth's only established high tech government captures her to use as a pawn in their treacherous pursuit for mapping out global weather patterns in order to control the masses. Glinna and Germain, two lovers lost in the fatal abyss of power and uncertainty, are desperately trying to find each other so they can finally be together in the way in which they crave: as lovers. They struggle through trials of separation and heartache until they are finally united by unconventional means. Escaping the chains of violence, captivity and starvation, they find a safe haven to start over where they are able to love freely with the hope of a safe existence that neither thought possible, until now.

Growing up with the Deans was a fabulous training ground for many things: ignoring unpaid bills, being the most entertaining guest at dinner, deconstructing poetry. It was never home for the dog Emily craved. Emily shared the lively chaos with her beloved older sister Rachael, her rock. Over the years the sisters bond grew ever closer. As Rachael went on to have the cosy family and treasured dog, Giggle, Emily threw herself into unsettled adventure - dog ownership remaining a distant dream. Then, tragically, Rachael is diagnosed with cancer. In just three devastating years Emily loses not only her sister but both her parents as well. This is the funny heart-breaking, wonderfully told story of how Emily discovers that it is possible to overcome the worst that life can throw at you, that it's never too late to make peace with your past, and that the right time is only ever now, as she finally starts again with her very own dog - the adorable Shih-tzu named Raymond.
Do you suffer from ongoing pain or other chronic medical symptoms such as fatigue, lower back pain, arthritis, acid indigestion, insomnia, or migraines? Do you feel as though your symptoms are taking over your life? Thirty percent of the population suffers from chronic debilitating illnesses and pain that respond only partially to conventional medicine, but this doesn't mean that there is no relief in sight. Dr. Arthur Barsky, psychiatrist and pioneer in the field of mind-body medicine, has found that changing the way you think about your illness can have a remarkable effect on how you experience your symptoms. The groundbreaking program he offers in "Stop Being Your Symptoms and Start Being Yourself" teaches patients to master the five psychological factors that make chronic symptoms persist through hundreds of exercises, worksheets, and patient examples. You may not be able to completely eliminate your medical symptoms, but it is possible to control your symptoms rather than letting them control you--and this book shows you how.
